China: Culture and Craft
During opening hours
Come face to face with two terracotta warriors in the Chapel Royal, Stirling Castle, at a showcase of Chinese traditional skills, as part of a collaboration between Historic Environment Scotland, the University of Stirling and Art Exhibitions China.
The two replica terracotta warriors, made using traditional materials and techniques, will be on display, having been presented to the nation by Chinese cultural counterparts as part of the 2017 Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology.
Joining the warriors will be an exhibition showcasing around 100 Chinese artisan craft objects, made with traditional materials and using traditional techniques. Some of them will be contemporary in design and material combined with traditional style, employing innovative craftsmanship. Exhibits include iconic bronze reproductions, stone craft, wood craft and other creative productions made using traditional techniques.
