Unicorn Cafe
The Unicorn Café is a comfortable and pleasant place to enjoy a drink, a snack or a meal. It’s name comes from the many statues and other representations of unicorns that can be seen around the castle. There are spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and the Wallace Monument from the café’s rooftop patio.
To Eat
The Unicorn Café specialises in wholesome, traditional Scottish dishes using local ingredients whenever possible in the castle kitchen. Gammon roasts, baked potato with haggis, homemade pastries and delicious homemade soups are just some of the dishes we’re delighted to serve you. We also prepare a large selection of sandwiches, wraps and baguettes, stuffed with delicious fillings for those who prefer a lighter meal.
This is supplemented by our deli-bar, serving deluxe baguettes such as smoked salmon and cream cheese, goats cheese and sun blushed tomato, pastrami, and spicy chicken and mango – just a sample of the selection available on a daily basis.
To end your meal on a mouth-watering note we have a fantastic selection of cakes, all baked with pride in the Castle kitchen. There is always a wide and varied selection available, from home baked scones with cream and strawberries to chef’s delightful shortbread, a selection of gluten-free cakes, a choice of two or three different sponge cakes, and many more.

Enjoy The View
On our rooftop patio, take the time to enjoy the beautiful views over the Stirlingshire countryside while you eat. A computer-based virtual tour of the castle is also available, enabling visitors to see inside all of the castle buildings – including those where access is difficult – and hear about the people who lived there.
