Stirling Castle Blog
A place of romance, a great landmark, the home of kings or an archaeological wonderland – just what is Stirling Castle? It all depends who you ask, which is why we have started the blog on our website. So far we have been inviting staff, and others linked to the castle, to write a couple of hundred words about what the castle means to them. But now we’d like you to join in.
One blog we’ve had was from Rochelle McDonald of the admissions team, and talked about a guy – who looked a bit like Vin Diesel – that turned up from the States to surprise his girlfriend and ask her to marry him. Big risk – everyone held their breath!

Then Matthew Shelley, who drives past the castle most mornings at about 6.30, explained how it seems to change from one season to the next. In summer it’s alive with golden sunlight, in winter it can be a vivid moonlit silver, and on a dreich autumn day of fog or rain it can simply vanish.
So, why not join in and write us a couple of hundred words about the castle from your point of view? Then we’d like to pick some of them and put them up on the web for everyone else to enjoy. It can be an anecdote, a cherished memory, an inspiration – just about anything. Quirky and offbeat is great, but it needs to be clean.
And please remember that as it’s a blog it’s a two-way street, so feel free to add your comments to what other people have said – we really welcome your input.
