Jugglers and jesters played a big part in entertaining the kings and queens at Stirling Castle. But not just anyone has what it takes to make the monarch laugh. So we are running a competition to see if any of our younger readers have the makings of a court entertainer.

All you have to do to enter is send in a joke that you think would be ideal to make a king of Scotland laugh. We’ll ask the professional jester who is appearing at the castle’s Easter Revelry which he thinks is best – and we’ll also put a few up on the website.

The lucky winner will be invited along to the Easter Revelry, which lasts for three days from Saturday 3rd to Monday 5th April, for their prize – a special one-to-one lesson from the court juggler! So after that they should be well-equipped to entertain any royalty they happen to bump into.
