We are challenging Scottish families to see how many of our castles, abbeys and other paid-for attractions they can visit by 16th July. There are 78 in total, spread from Shetland to the Borders and the Western Isles to St Andrews.

Taking part is easy, simply download a special Family Challenge ‘passport’ www.3monthsforfree.co.uk/#challenge and get it stamped at every property you visit.

The passports then need to be popped in the post and a special draw will be held with the lucky winner getting a VIP family experience at one of our top castles.

The Family Challenge is part of this year’s Make Your Own History Campaign which means that anyone who becomes a member of Historic Scotland by 11th July gets three months extra free.

Membership gives free entry to all our 78 paid attractions and costs less than £7 a month for families. There are a host of other benefits including discounts in HS shops, free entry to hundreds of daytime events and a free quarterly magazine.
