Two of our three gift shops have re-opened after a complete refit and are being stocked with a new range of goods, and some familiar favourites. The renamed Clan and Craft Gift Shop has lots of wonderful traditional Scottish products which make great presents and mementoes. As it’s located on the esplanade, you don’t even have to be a castle visitor to pop in and take a look.

The new Palace Gift Shop has also opened its doors. Its full range of goods is still being developed but there are lots of lovely things already there. These, as the name suggests, have been inspired by the palace and its sumptuous decoration. So you can find lovely tapestry and textile-related treats.

The last to re-open will be the Courtyard Gift Shop. This is taking longer than the others because the building itself is being extended, rather than just modernised. Once complete it will have a wide variety of products related to the castle. We are also having a new ticketing system installed, which will mean faster and more efficient service, especially at peak times.
