Christmas at Stirling Castle

This year we are helping to bring some extra sparkle to Christmas and Hogmanay with our best-ever line-up of events and activities. We’ve tried to offer something for everyone, including a shopping evening, the chance to meet a TV star, a cookery display, a celebration of Christmas past, and traditional carols.

Shopping Evening

Wednesday, 2  December, 6pm to 9pm

Christmas shopping is all the more fun when there’s some real festive atmosphere – and that’s something we can offer by the sack-load. Even better, TV archaeologist and author Neil Oliver will be making a return visit to join us for the evening and will be available to sign copies of his latest book A History of Scotland, Neil Oliverwhich follows from the BBC series of the same name.

So, for some great gifts, treats and culinary ideas come and join us in the Great Hall where there will be lots of local craft and food stalls. These will Tirnan Og, Fiona’s Fayre and Trees4Life. There will also be a cookery display by John McWhirter, head chef with Nairn’s at Stirling Castle. On top of all this there will also be the chance to buy famous brand products – and it will all be accompanied by carol singers.

Tickets including free parking, tea/coffee and a mince pie, are £5 and can be purchased by calling 01786 431 310/312 or email Nicola Hyne. Under 16s can get in free (excluding catering) but must be accompanied by an adult.
