Heart of Scotland Choir play Stirling Castle
The Heart of Scotland Choir are to perform at Stirling Castle this August in a spectacular summer concert.
The choir was formed in October 2010 by local sisters Annie Smart and Jane Hamilton and within a few months they were asked to perform at Stirling Castle's Hogmanay celebrations since which the group have received a myriad of requests from across the country and have performed on Scotland's Real Radio and BBC1’s Tonight’s The Night withJohn Barrowman’s.
The 80-member choir is made up of local people from all walks of life and their success is based on a combination of traditional and modern music delivered through unique arrangements. Their unexpected song choices have seen them perform unique covers of artists as diverse as Lady Gaga, Foo Fighters, Stereophonics, Rhianna, Take That and Oasis.
The concert will also include a performance by the Heart of Scotland Juniors. Aged from 7-14, these dynamic local youngsters are following in the footsteps of the adult choir . They also cover an eclectic range of artists and songs from The Script, Little Mix, Avril Lavigne, and Katy Perry in glorious three-part harmony. They have to be seen to be believed!
Both choirs are looking forward to performing a magical concert in the Castle's magnificent Great Hall, the highlight of which will be the collaboration of both choirs on some special songs!
