We’re used to welcoming visitors from around the globe, just not at one time! That’s exactly what happened this week when 60 of this year’s Miss World contestants paid us a visit, including reigning queen Alexandria Mills. The organisers of the pageant, which is celebrating it’s 60th year with a tour of the UK, wanted the girls to experience the best of Scottish tradition and culture and we were delighted when asked to be part of their Scottish tour.
During their time at the castle the contestants visited the newly refurbished Renaissance palace where they met our team of costumed characters including Queen Mary of Guise who spoke to them about the responsibilities that come with the job. The girls were also treated to a tapestry lesson from our head weaver Louise Martin and given a few pointers in court etiquette from our guides which will hopefully stand them in good stead for the upcoming finals.
