The days to the grand opening of our magnificent Renaissance palace are definitely numbered!. The last few weeks of our preparations seem to have flown past at a fast-forward rate and there are now just three full days left until the long-awaited unveiling of our refurbished 16th century royal apartments at Stirling Castle Presents – A Palace Fit For A Queen, this Saturday and Sunday, 4th and 5th June.

                 

As you can imagine, the pace of preparations has really revved up as we go through last-minute checks to ensure that everything is ready for our big launch event. Final rehearsals are underway as I write, and excitement levels throughout the castle are at an all-time high; everyone is very much looking forward to the culmination of what we’ve all been working toward for so long.

It promises to be a really great weekend; we’ve a superb packed programme featuring everything from drama and comedy to music and dance, fashion and sword-fighting, and more than 60 costumed performers laying on all sorts of entertainments in the Great Hall, the Chapel Royal and all round the castle.

Most important of all of course, our event offers the chance to be among the first to view the wonderful palace, which is presented as it might have looked when it was the childhood home of Mary Queen of Scots, and to see our great new exhibitions and interactive displays. Our £12 million palace project is making sure that Stirling Castle stays right up there as one of the best days out in the whole of Britain.

It’s best to buy your tickets in advance, as numbers available on the day will be limited to avoid overcrowding and make sure everyone has the best possible experience.
