As you can probably tell from these images we had a great time filming for BBC 1’s “The Great British Weather”.
The cast and crew worked round the clock for two days to create an interesting and entertaining programme for viewers and Stirling Castle visitors weren’t forgotten. Many were intrigued by the goings-on and spent hours watching set up and rehearsals taking place. But many more were thrilled when they got to meet and chat to the stars of the programme including Chris Hollins, Carol Kirkwood and Larry Lamb.

One of the highlights of the programme was when presenters Chris Hollins and Alexander Armstrong were harnessed to the back of a hovercraft engine in a bid to reach wind speeds of over 100mph. It was also a treat to see weather legends Michael Fish, Bill Giles and John Kettley back on our screens after so many years.
Stirling Castle has always been a popular backdrop for film and TV productions and we have been particularly popular over the last few months appearing on STV’s “The Hour” and BBC’s “The One Show”. So if you’re planning on visiting the Castle anytime soon keep your eyes peeled as your never know who you might bump into!
